Participant Qualifications
Due to the business model of Helping Hoof, depending everyday Americans to each donate a little time, these facilities are not equipped with the type of equipment for special needs or severely injured people. This organization’s business model is designed to minimize cost and have extremely low overhead, therefore it is not possible to serve all Veterans of First Responders with special needs.
All Veterans or First Responders must have the following criteria:
Must be a Veteran or First Responder.
Military personnel must be separated/retired from active duty status.
Must be able to provide own transportation to a Helping Hoof Foundation Approved Facility.
Must be physically able to groom, saddle, or handle the horse unsupervised after appropriate training.
If the participant desires to ride a horse, they must have be approved by the trainer, to ensure safety for both the horse and rider.
